2010 Dividend
Your Board of Directors has voted to issue an 8% dividend to all policyholders of record as of November 1, 2010.  The dividend will be based on the premium paid by the policyholder on a one year policy with an effective date between November 1, 2008 to October 31, 2009.

Best Co. on January 11, 2010, affirmed the financial strength rating of A (Excellent) and issuer credit rating of "A" (Excellent) for the Company.  The outlook for both ratings is stable.  A.M. "Notice of Unavailability"................... NOT AVAILABLE!

While it may be common practice for sole practitioners and members of small firms to serve and file a "Notice of Unavailability" to advise the court and interested parties of vacations, illnesses or other reasons that affect availability, a recent ruling holds that such documents are not "fileable" in either the Superior Court or Court of Appeal under California Rules of Court.

Changes to LLP Insurance Requirements

Effective January 1, 2008, the amount of professional liability insurance that must be maintained by Limited Liability Partnerships practicing law will increase from $500,000 for 5 or fewer attorneys to $1,000,000 for five (5) or fewer attorneys. As before, for each additional attorney above 5, an additional $100,000 is added to the limits of liability required by the code section, up to a maximum of $7,500,000 [70 attorneys]. See, CA Corporations Code §16956(2).
